Insight Fashion Magazine: Week #2

Spring is in the air here in Amsterdam and I really enjoy discovering the beautiful city with my bike now. Last week I 'pimped' it a little bit with some colour, I went to the first museum and discovered great Concept Stores. One of them, Hutspot Amsterdam (Rozengracht 204) hosted the Converse Photo Clash event last Saturday in Amsterdam. Everyone could take a picture at the store and seven of Amsterdam’s most interesting artists clashed the best photos with colour and transformed them into something totally new and unique. The results were quite amazing.

Hutspot

A great concept store that searches for new and interesting brands, designers, artists and entrepreneurs, offering them the chance to expose their products in their own space within the shop. Besides clothes, shoes and accessories you can also find a selection of wine, furniture, books and a cozy café.

Utrechtstraat

The Utrechtstestraat starts at the Rembrandtplein and ends at the Frederiksplein. and crosses all the canals, what makes it a very charming shopping street. Here you can definitely find a great number of unique, eye-catching stores. Lifestyle, interior design, fashion, gifts, gourmet food, music and literature.

Museum of Bags and Purses Hendrikje (Tassenmuseum)

Especially if you like bags, fashion and museums, this unique museum with a collection of more than 4000 bags, pouches, suitcases and purses is definitely worth a visit. The Museum of Bags and Purses Amsterdam is located in a beautiful canal house build in 1664 at the Herengracht in the centre of Amsterdam. You can travel through time, history and fashion as you explore the impressive collection. The museum exhibits the story of the (ladies) bag from the late Middle Age to the present day, including the it-pieces of temporary designers. The museum is the result of the unique collection of Hendrikje Ivo, who has collected bags for more than 35 years.
